Petition Overview:
As noted in the Council's Local Implementation Plan, free "Stop and Shop" bays were implemented to encourage motorists to use local We the undersigned, note that Ealing Council now intends to remove thee free "Stop and Shop" bays. We are against this move which we believe will be anti-local business, many of whom are already struggling. We deplore that these bays will instead be used to encourage more commuter parking and more revenue for the Council. Furthermore, by discouraging passing trade along our local high streets, shoppers will have t travel further afield, thus creating more air pollution. We call upon the Council to put the needs of residents and our local businesses first and leave the free "Stop and Shop" bays in place.
