Cleveland Local News

Together with the Pitshanger Village Traders Association, the paper petition collected over 2000 signatures and our on line petition finally achieved another 800.  The decision to terminate the lease of the library was called in by the opposition and debated at the Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 2nd August where a spirited presentation was made by John Martin of the PVTA and by Cllr. Kumah.  The recommendation of the OSC was to uphold the decision but to refer it back to Cabinet with a recommendation that the lease not be terminated until all options had been considered and a full report presented to cabinet.  This will be debated on 11 September and we shall keep a close eye on the outcome.
