BackZac2016 Campaign Bulletin #14

69 days until the most important city in the world votes for its next Mayor on 5th May
 
This week Zac was campaigning across South East London including Deptford, Eltham and Bexleyheath. He visited the East Village to talk to residents andwent to the Olympic Park to see the developments that will deliver 2,818 new homes, create jobs and secure a long-term sporting legacy.

This week Zac was campaigning in Eltham High Street, where he pledged to bring Southeastern trains under TfL control to ensure services improve. Zac also visited small business MOMA Foods in Deptford where he discussed the importance of championing SMEs in London.

This week during the first debate of the campaign Zac was making his case to be Mayor, setting out his Action Plan for a greater London – more homes, better transport, cleaner air and safer streets.

The plan will double the rate of home building in Greater London to 50,000 a year by 2020 and ensure that people who live and work in Greater London get the first call on homes built on public land.

A critical issue at the mayoral election will be who can deliver the homes Londoners need.

There are around 10 times more homes that have received planning permission in the capital than are actually being built. 

This week Zac outlined his plans to unlock the homes that already have planning permission – but are not being built.
