Petition demanding more car parking for the proposed Gurnell Flats
The current plans for the 450 flats by the Gurnell Leisure Centre seems to overlook the car parking requirements for the residents of the flats As the flats have been carefully designed for sharing, there is likely to be some 900 people living there. Many will have cars and car parking must be supplied, otherwise these cars will swamp Gurnell Grove, Peal Gardens and Avalon Road and its neighbouring streets.
Cleveland's Conservative activists have organised a petition demanding car parking be supplied at the rate of one car parking space per flat. We have been out for two Saturday mornings so far and will continue for following Saturdays. The response has been overwhelmingly supportive with only one refusal so far.
When we knock on your door please make sure everyone in the house has the opportunity to sign the petition.
