We are delighted to announce that Ealing council have finally agreed make the necessary repairs to the Clocktower on Northolt Village Green following a campaign by residents and local Conservative representatives.
The broken clock was initially reported to Council Officers by opposition Councillor, Seema Kumar back in the summer after complaints by residents that the clocktower had been broken for quite some time.
Since then, many hundreds of local residents signed a petition our website calling on Ealing Council, in the strongest terms to organise and make the necessary repairs to the clocktower. Local Northolt resident, Diva Nazari said, “The strong feeling that this petition ignited clearly demonstrates that residents in Northolt care about our town and with some people power we really can make a difference to our community.”
The clock tower was built in 1937 to commemorate the Coronation of King George VI and is at the centre of Northolt Village Green - the very heart of our community. It is a focal point for the area and a meeting place for local residents.
